With the aim of strengthening biosafety and biosecurity status in Bangladesh, Biosafety Office of icddr,b organized the training of the trainer program in the field of Biosafety and Biosecurity in April 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Dr. Asadulghani, Head of Biosafety and BSL3 laboratory of icddr,b coordinated the program using the platform of Bangladesh Biosafety and Biosecurity Society. Renowned Scientists in Bangladesh Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice Chencellor, Jessore University Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Be-Nazir Ahmed, National Consultant Coordination & Support Center, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,Professor Dr. Sarif Akhtaruzzaman, Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abu Saleh, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, BSMMU, Dr. Md. Salimullah, Director General, National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB), Brigedier General Professor Dr. Arif Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Insitute of Pathology, Brigedier General Dr. Saidur Rahman, Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College and other resource persons in Bangladesh conducted difference courses during the program. The program followed the National Institute of Health (NIH) developed modules for educating the trainers. A total of 133 resource persons from different areas of biological sciences were trained in this program and were certified as trainers in the field of Biosafey and Biosecurity. Theoritical part of the program was organized at Sasakawa Auditorium icddr,b and the practical part was hosted by NIB.
